About Skyward
Our goal is your financial wellness.
We aim to help you with your financial needs for saving, spending and investing ... and at a favorable rate. With a membership steeped in aviation industry knowledge, we have experience and knowledge in the ups and downs of working and living in this community.
As a community financial business, our interest is in your best interest. We want to celebrate your victory laps and help you over bumpy roads.
How are we different from a bank? It’s not us, it’s you.
The membership of a Credit Union is comprised of a group of people who share a common bond. Individuals invest a small required deposit in a share savings account, which entitles them to all membership benefits. Our operating income is returned to our members in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan rates, and lower fees. Annually, each member has one vote (no matter how many dollars are on deposit) in the election of qualified member-volunteers for the board of directors and committees. These elected volunteers direct the operations of the Credit Union to benefit all members.

Our history.
Skyward Credit Union was chartered on July 16, 1941, as a not-for-profit corporation under Kansas State law, to accept savings and make loans for those who qualify for membership.
Credit unions are regulated by the Kansas State Department of Credit Unions and the National Credit Union Association (NCUA), an independent agency of the United States government.
Member share savings deposits are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), an arm of the NCUA, totally independent of the bank and savings association insurance funds.
Who can join Skyward?
Skyward Credit Union membership is open to all employees of Textron (present and past), support companies and organizations, and select employee groups. Membership is also available to the immediate family of any current member.
